Leaders call for peaceful campaigns ahead of Bonchari by election slated on 18 May

As Bonchari constituency heading to by election on 18May politician have been urged to campaign peacefully and avoid utterances that might lead to incitement.

Okeng’o Nyambane urged campaigners to stick to what’s in the constitution holding peaceful campaigns

”Hate campaigns will not be tolerated and those seeking votes should do so in peace and without resorting to intimidation.” he said.

Mr Okeng’o urged the public to remain united and maintain peace before and after election.

He stated that residents should maintain peace and not be divided over the exercise.

He asked the security officers to beef up security in the area to prevent incidences of crime.

Mr Okeng’o warned against hateful utterances by some politicians that might lead to incitement.

His sentiments were echoed by PDP party leader Omingo Magara urged public not to allow political class to mislead and divide them.

He asked the voters to elect their leader wisely.

On the same note, the duos pleaded to the security officers not to be used to undermine others while on their campaigns.

The seat was left vacant after the demise of the late Oroo Oyioka .

The seat is being eyed by Zebedeo Opore(Jubilee), Pavel Oimeke (ODM), Teresa Bitutu wife to late Oyioka(UDA), Kevin Misomi(PDU), Charles Mogaka(PPK), David Ogega ( KCS), Jonna Ondieki(TND), Jeremiah Matagaro(Agano Party), Paul Matagaro(Mwangaza), Mary Otara, Victor Omanwa (PED).
