Ruto allies have petitioned the Government over excessive use of Police to intimidate and harass them in the ongoing by-elections.

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has told the media in Matungu that police say they have been ordered by powerful forces to harass, intimidate and arrest UDA supporters.

“Why are we misusing our officers who have not eaten since morning running up and down for nothing? Just see in London, Matungu, Kabuchai, and Kisii only UDA supporters are being arrested including candidates. This is unfair at all,” Protested Sudi.

Taita Taveta women Rep Lydiah Haika said as chief Agents, Police have been following them up and down without explanations.

‘Kenyans are peaceful and they are only being fueled by rogue police officers. As chief agents, they have been following us up and down. Let the Authority and the so-called powerful people to atop misusing the Police,” Said Haika.

They have asked Police and Government to give the electorate a peaceful voting environment so that they elect their preferred candidate.

Mombasa senator Hassan Omar told President Uhuru Kenyatta to respect the law and Human rights.

“I come from a background of Human Rights and I want to tell President Uhuru Kenyatta to respect Human rights. It’s against the law to deny people their right to vote for their preferred candidate,’ He said.
