
Celebrated Veteran Secular Musician James Ragira Alias Omwana Equincher of Nyamecheo Jazz Band is dead.
Ragira’s news who died on Friday at 3am after a long illness broke the internet with many mourning to have lost a legend.
Samuel Okemwa who has been in the front to assist secular musicians recover from poverty has said Gusii has lost a talent.
“Rest in peace Omwana Equincher James Ragira. I am in tears. Gusii we have lost a talented Musician,” He said.
Last Month Okemwa who lives in Canada represented by Abraham Osero initiated a process and rushed him to St Catherine Hospital Ichuni in Keroka where he was treated and discharged.

“I spoke to Okemwa and deliberated the way forward. After noticing that he wanted cash for further treatment, we formed a WhatsApp group on 29/10/2020 where over 200k was raised to a family MPESA Number,” Said Osero.
Osero told this site that they teamed up with Douglas Otiso a Gospel Minister for a second time and returned him to hospital where he was treated and discharged under the care of family members until his death.
“We tried our best to save Ragira but he has rested. Our people lets unite and help one another in times of need. God bless you all,” He said.
Ragira has died in his early 40s leaving behind three young 2 boys, one girl and a widow.
He will be remembered by many as a musician who’s songs taught our community to live in peace and uphold what we stand for.
