
As Covid 19 Continue to wreck Nations, Kisii County has registered over 700 positive cases with 25 deaths. Kisii County Director of Public Heath Doctor Richard Onkware said Kisii town is turning a hotspot due to congested population.
Speaking to this site when he accompanied the CEC for administration Edna Kangwana to deliver hand washing containers to CDB traders, Onkware said serious precautionary measures need to be taken.
“Kisii we have so far recorded over 700 positive cases out of which 25 have succumbed. Kisii town due to its population is turning to be a hotspot for the virus. We ask our people to strictly take in precautionary measures,” He said.
He dismissed reports that lemons and ginger heal Corona. He advised that they are only meant to boost ones immunity.
“I want to state it very clear, Lemons and ginger don’t heal corona. They are meant to boost your immunity system. This gives your body energy to fight the virus incase you get infected,” He clarified.
Jane Matiabe a trader who had tested positive but now recovered said she underwent trauma due to rejection. Her friends and relatives could hardly reach near her even after full recovery.
“I went through stigma. The friends i have cant even greet me. Have recovered but still they refer me as a corona patient. Corona is real and it kills. I almost died but i thank God have survived,” She narrated.
She called upon people to stop victimizing patients even after recovery.
“I was isolated, even now. Am just lonely. I urge our people to strictly follow health protocols. Wear a mask, sanitize and have social distance. I don’t know where I got it from. Lets accommodate those who have recovered and stop running away from them,” She pleaded.
