Kisii town matatu operators have petitioned the County Government over lack of sanitizer. The Lake Basin Development Authority installed hand wash points which have never since been served with soap.

Speaking to The Daily Clock on Tuesday Morning at the Main bus stage, the operators say they are forced to buy soap in shifts which has crippled them financially.

“We heard on Radio that Ongwae has distributed sanitizer to business people in Kisii, where are they. This tank here has never been served with soap. We buy ourselves in shifts. This is not our responsibility but of the County Government. For how long will we buy?” Questioned Enock Manase.

In a presser, the County Government through the CEC for Administration Edna Kangwana had announced the distribution of soap to all water points in Kisii town and sub-counties.

She further assured that the soap will be served regularly by County Officials. The residents have questioned the statements saying the County never takes their health seriously.

“This tank we are forced to fill water by ourselves yet the county has lorries to do this. We are asking Ongwae, are we not human beings who deserve protection from this deadly virus? Where are the sanitizers he announced? Did they end in the pockets of County officials? Protested Emmanuel Ongeri.
