Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli on Sunday publicly doubted the COVID-19 test results being given from the National Laboratory.

Magufuli revealed that they took different samples to Covid-19 testing centers without them knowing. Pawpaw, goat, and bird samples tested positive for Covid-19.

He said that either laboratory attendants in Tanzania are compromised or something is being done to give unrealistic results.

“We took different samples to Covid-19 testing centers without them knowing. Pawpaw, goat, and bird samples tested positive for Covid-19. That means that either laboratory attendants are compromised or there’s something being done,” He said.

Tanzania has recorded a total number of 480 positive cases with 167 recoveries. So far 17 deaths have been witnessed.

This has ranked the country as one with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in East Africa. So far it’s the most affected country in the region.

As a control measure, Tanzania has locked learning institutions, banned Public gatherings but has not declared a nationwide lockdown.

Worldwide 3.45 Million cases have been confirmed with a total of 1.1 Million recoveries. 244,000 death cases have been reported.

The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors or surfaces.
