Kisii Governor sets a team of 19 to battle Corona virus

Kisii Governor James Ongwae on Friday set a team of 19 officers to battle the deadly Corona Virus which a first case was confirmed in Kenya by the Ministry of Health.

Speaking to Journalists at the Kisii County Assembly headquarters, Ongwae said they have set the main center fully equipped at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

“We have set the main center at KTRH and we are in the process of setting others at the Sub county level,” Said Ongwae.

Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka who was in company with the Governor has called on residents to be calm and follow the safety measures that have been put in place by the Government.

“Our people should be careful. The president is up to the task. We pray that this does not escalate because if it does I don’t know how we will deal with it,” Said Onyonka.

The ministry of Health on Friday confirmed its first case after a Kenyan who had traveled from London on 5th March 2020 tested Positive at Kenyatta National Hospital.
