The defilement case facing Moticho ward MCA in Kisii County Evans Omwansu Mokoro was on Thursday dismissed at Ogembo Law courts.

Ruling the case, the Ogembo Senior Principal Magistrate Dennis Mikoyan said the matter came up severally in court for hearing and there has been no witness appearing.

In the ruling, Mikoyan further said this demonstrated the unwillingness of the complainant to present her allegations in court despite several adjournments granted.

Addressing the media outside the court immediately after dismissal, The MCA said the allegations were stage-managed by his political opponents who wanted to taint his name and bar him from contesting the South Mugirango 2022 MP seat.

“There is a purported case of defilement that was launched in this court which was meant by my opponents politically; of course I want to say it was a political case. Since last year April up to date have never seen the purported complainant or victim nor any witness has ever come to this court to testify the defilement that was launched against me,” Said Mokoro.

Mokoro was arraigned in the same court before the same Magistrate on 30th April 2019 where he was charged with defiling a 16-year-old girl at Nyamarambe area in Gucha South Sub-County on diverse dates between June 2016 and September 2017.

He pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.50, 000 or Ksh.200, 000
