Four governors from Nyanza, ODM leader Raila Odinga are in panic, fearing the Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi might disrupt the much hyped 10th January 2020 BBI consultative meeting.
Tension started on 1st January 2020 when Maangi vowed to deal with corrupt leaders from Kisii sheltering under Matiang’i to avoid arrest by EACC.
Kisii MCAs led by Sensi ward MCA Paul Angwengi revealed that some individuals are planning to cause chaos.
Kisii Central Ward MCA Kefa Mogaka warned those who might be tempted to disrupt the meeting.
On Wednesday evening, Sponsored Boda Boda riders demonstrated in Kisii town asking Maangi to respect BBI and the President. The BBI meeting will take place at Sports Club in Kisii town.
On Tuesday Maangi told the media that he fully supports BBI. Further he said, he fully respects the president, ODM leader Raila Odinga and interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi.
“I was the very first person to support BBI and that is my stand. I have Much Respect for the President and Raila Odinga, a great friend of mine. Matiang’i is a great friend of mine. He is our son and we respect his hard work in serving Kenyans,” said Maangi.
Maangi said they are not aware of the meeting terming it as a waste of Public resources.
“I am not aware of the meeting. To me it should not be given urgency. What we should discuss for now is development. There is freedom; those willing to attend let them do so peacefully,” Added Maangi.
Maangi who is currently out of Kisii County and has been hinted to skip the meeting has left his presence felt by critics.
Its alleged that Millions of shillings has been set aside to mobilize residents and Counter critics ahead of the Meeting.
