A woman from Keumbu in Kisii is nursing serious injuries at Kisii Teaching and referral Hospital after she was attacked and brutally beaten by unknown gang.

According to reports, the MPesa business woman was attacked at around 9pm when she was closing down her shop.

On Friday Morning, the area Chief Ben Ogwoka told The Daily Clock, that the woman was brutally beaten and robbed unknown thousands of cash next to Keumbu Adventist Church.

Ogwoka said the gang had crude weapons which they used to brutalized the woman who had stepped foot from the shop to her way home.

“The suspected robbers were highly armed with weapons. Residents were alarmed by her scream. They immediately arrived and saved her from death and rushed her to Kisii Level six where she is currently recovering,” Said Ogwoka.

Residents have appealed to authorities especially Interior CS Doctor Fred Matiang’i to summon the Keumbu Police officers who have failed in restoring security.

This becomes the second woman to be brutally assaulted after another 35 year old Mpesa woman was attacked, beaten and raped three weeks ago.

She later died while receiving treatment at Kisii Level 6 Hospital.

Keumbu has hit headlines in the past few months following frequent insecurity cases.
