Kisii MCAs on Tuesday bitterly claimed Governor James Ongwae hired goons to disrupt a vetting process that was going on at county offices.

Finance officers who are facing impeachment were being grilled over alleged claims of  Abuse of office, gross misconduct, Gross violation of the constitution and incompetence.

“We want to tell the executive who hired them, one is Governor himself because the goons have told us we have been brought to fulfill certain business by someone, The people i have mentioned without fear that we will not relent,” Said Sengera Bosoti MCA Ibrahim Mbuya.

On Tuesday Morning some people who claimed to be Contractors and residents of Kisii stormed Kiboko Boardroom in the Assembly offices where the probing committee was grilling the alleged officers and disrupted the process.

“Even if they want to kill all the MCAs, We will never relent. We will make sure the County is sanitized. We must answer Audit queries. In fact i want to tell you, they have energized the MCAs. Already the audit report is there and is very clear on the financial irregularities in the County,” Ogembo MCA James Ondari Alias Paradiso told the Media.

The 5 member committee was tasked by the Kisii County Assembly after unanimously passing an impeachment motion  on 11th April 2019 to carry out investigations on the alleged Officers and submit a report back to the assembly within 10 working days.

Last week office of the clerk released a notice calling on for submission of memorandums from residents latest by Tuesday 23rd April 2019 5pm which was today to further help the committee compile its report.

The Committee has however vowed to continue with its mandated duty despite forces from the County boss.
