After a long struggle, 25 Nyamira county league teams are set to do better after receiving a donation of 2 balls each from Nyamira FC Chairman Luthers Mokua.
Speaking in Nyamira during the handing over of the quality balls, Luthers Mokua who is also the Wazito CEO a Nairobi based club said this is in line with nurturing and supporting local talents.
“Am out to support local talents and i picked Nyamira because its my home. I realized there is a big gap when it comes to nurturing of football talents and that is why am here today,” Said Mokua.
Mokua who is also aspiring for FKF Nyamira County Chairmanship says, local teams are crippled in a way for they cannot access what they need in terms of infrastructure and other basic needs.
“I have come to help this where i can. I will do this all through. Together with FKF branch managers, we will make sure that we nurture these talents both Boys and Girls who are talented to be able to realize their dreams. In the near future am planning to mobilize my colleagues so that we move into infrastructure,” Added Mokua.
“We have fields in Nyamira that can be renovated to assist our teams. We request the County government of Nyamira to set aside some funds to at least build some goal posts and just normal perimeter fence,” Requested Mokua.
Nyamira County league team managers expressed their satisfactory and thanked Mokua for coming to their rescue after a very long struggle.
“We have actually been lacking this kind of support. Mokua has shown what our leaders cannot do. He has decided to come home and support our youth. This is a great move and we believe we are going far,” Said Evans Onderi the Riakimai FC Manager.
