Moffat Ateya the speaker of Nyamira County on Wednesday presided over the County Assembly afternoon Plenary Sitting in which honorable Members debated and adopted the County Committee on Budget and Appropriations Report on the Nyamira County Integrated Development Plan(CIDP) 2018 – 2022.
The CIDP is a key planning document that is prepared by the County Executive and submitted to the County Assembly for approval. It further incorporates development proposals gathered from the members of the Public through public participation.
The CIDP is the basis upon which all the Annual Development Plans for five consecutive years are prepared and development initiated in the County. This is the second CIDP to be prepared by the County Government of Nyamira.
Upon its approval, the plan will now be forwarded to the Controller of Budget to pave way for release of development funds to the County .
The CIDP (as approved today) details all the projects to be implemented in each Ward in every County department. It further indicates those projects that are cross-cutting and whose implementation spills over to subsequent financial years.
The role of the County Assembly now is to oversight the implementation of the projects by the Executive.
Moffat further says the Assembly will provide every necessary support towards the implementation of this CIDP for accelerated development of the great County of Nyamira.
