Two suspects who were arrested on Tuesday in connection to Sharon Otieno’s death a Rongo university student were on Wednesday arraigned in Kisii law court before senior principal magistrate Nathan shiundu.
The two Caspal Ajwang Obiero and Omondi Okoth Elvis were arrested after being mentioned by witnesses severally in connection with the murder of Sharon.
According to the application filed by prosecution led by Muhindi Mochama to detain the two suspects for the next ten days at Keroka police station to give the investigators enough time to conduct a comprehensive and in depth investigations.
This was granted by the court despite the respondents lawyers led by Angawa Esther and And Mrs Osiero opposing the application saying the suspects should not be detained in the sake of investigation.
The respondents lawyer further argued that one suspect has health problem and the long days in custody will affect his health.
The prosecution argued that by granting this application does not infringe the constitutional rights of the suspects since there is loss of lives and this does not require to table evidence .
Mr Shiundu noted that the complexity of the matter allows the the detention of the suspects for 10 days and the suspects should be provided with medical services where necessary .
The suspects will appear in court on 28/09/2018.
