Deputy President William Ruto has refurbished opinion poll and told critics to concentrate on development issues to avoid tarnishing his name .
This came after the opinion poll results were released ranking Mr William Ruto and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as the most corrupt leaders in the country .
Speaking at Kisii Tendere ground during a fundraising of boda boda, deputy President said that some people are moving on tarnishing his name while he is busy concentrating on development issues.
He alleged that some people are paid to blackmail his name on newspapers and on the opinion polls.
“From Monday to Monday my name is on headline of newspapers ,”he said.
Mr Ruto said that the survey had been sponsored by their political rivals interested in swaying public perceptions in the run-up to the 2022 elections.
“The opinion was paid for by the political detractors who think this will help their course to the presidency. The findings are part of the political scheme by the usual failures because how do you measure perception and propagandas,” Asked Ruto.
Mr Ruto said that it’s high time for the critics to concentrate more on development issues rather than moving on criticking and spreading propaganda.
“I welcome my critics to come and we compete on development projects we have done since we came into office,” said Deputy President.
“Some people are asking me if my father was not a minister, deputy President ,nor have not been raised from a rich family, nor do I have a Godfather how can I raise from nowhere to be a president ,” he said.
Mr Ruto said that since he has no Godfather to uplift him, he will make it in the year 2022 as president.
According to him they have done much development in the country since they took presidency rather than those who have been in the government for many years.
“I welcome all my critics we compete on development rather than propagandas full of fake opinions, “said Ruto.
He said that some people are thinking that other people are sons of lesser God while others are sons of God.
“Being poor is not a disease, we are sons of God, it’s only through hard work one can change his or her destiny ,”said Ruto.
Kisii Members of parliament Alfha Miruka, Richard Onyonka and Zadock Ogutu welcomed the deputy President and vowed to support him and asked him not to be demoralized on the opinion survey instead to dwell more on development agendas.
Deputy governor Joash Maangi asked Ruto to pressure on with his ambition .
Maangi said that he will support him as a presidential candidate 2022.
