Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has asked residents not to crucify him for extending a handshake with the deputy president William Ruto.
Maangi who came into office in 2013 through ODM has been seen ditching parties days after joining. In last years election, He ditched his ODM party to Jubilee and later joined ODM again to defend his job.
Speaking at Tendere ground during boda boda fundraising the deputy governor said that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga was a good move which is supposed to be emulated by other leaders as a sign of unity.
Mr Maangi said that it’s not wrong when deputy President William Ruto extends the handshake to other leaders.
According to him Ruto has been his long term friend despite political party differences.
“Let everyone be peace ambassadors,” said Maangi.
He further said he will be vying for gubernatorial seat in 2022.
However Maangi vowed to support William Ruto for presidency 2022.
