Toyota Kenya has launched the new Sh3 million seven-seater sports model Toyota Hilux and Fortuner to the Kenyan market.
Managing Director Arvinder Reel said the low-priced vehicle comes in the wake of enquiries and a surge in the sale of new cars due to the improved economy that has boosted consumer spending power.
He also said dealers and car assemblers support the proposed lowering of the import age limit to support the industries growth get newer cars on the roads.
“It has a 1.5-litre in-line four-cylinder petrol engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligence that provides enough power and good fuel efficiency,” He said.
“We do support it, currently its seven years, we hope that the government and the CS will lower this so that we can see newer vehicles on our roads,” he added.
This comes after the company launched RAV 4 new model in April this year, making it the first vehicle to be sold in Kenya under the cross-over category.
