Kisii county is set to host the Kenya Inter county sports association games KICOSCA and international youths day, all scheduled for august this year.
Addressing the press on Wednesday during the assessment of the ongoing construction of Gusii stadium, Kisii governor James Ongwae who was accompanied by his deputy Joash Maangi expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing work.
“We are on with final preparations and we will ensure that all is well before 12th,”he said
Present were Walter Nyambane from the office of the president and Antony Kibagendi who are in the National Organizing Committee planning the International Youth Celebration day said the theme of this year is safe space for youths.
Mr.Mong’are said that the youths need safe space where they can come together ,engage in activities related to their diverse and interests participate in decision making process and freely express themselves.
“This year’s theme is safe space for the youths and we have seen counties creating the space, we encourage the cooperation between county boss and the youths so that they can participate in decision making process and freely express themselves, ” Mong’are said
The event is likely to take place at Kisii Universty ground on 12 August .
Kisii county commissioner Godfrey Kigochi assured for enough security during and after the youths international day and KICOSCA.
