The cabinet secretary for the ministry of interior Fred Matiang’i has hailed Kisii security Team lead by County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi for their tremendous job in curbing crimes in the region.
Addressing residents at Nyabisase Secondary school in Bobasi Constituency on Friday during a fund drive in aid of the construction of a Dormitory, Matiang’i said figures and statistics from the region shows that the security team has managed to curb insecurity unlike in the past.
“I see the figures and statistics, we have managed to bring down crimes, for example moving huge murder to two per month is real an achievement,” said CS Matiang’i
He added that he will continue giving support in the fight against Chang’aa and bhang. He noted that his ministry has organized a security meeting in transmara which will bring together Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Narok and Bomet counties to deal with challenges related to bhang and cattle rustling.
The CS also noted that the country is safe as the Government has set measures to ensure that Kenyans remain peaceful and united.
“I want to confirm that the country is safe and we will ensure that there is peace and unity,” added CS
In Development he challenged parents to ensure that they invest in Educating their children since it’s the only gift a parent can give to their children.
“There is no country that can succeed without investing to young people, let us support our children academicaly,” He said.
The CS reminded the parents to follow the footsteps of President Uhuru Kenyatta who spends 60% of his time in supporting the youths through empowering technical trainings because he knows the importance of investing in young people.
To students he challenged them to work hard and listen to their parents and teachers by having in mind that they are this country’s future leaders.
He also reminded them that success comes only through honest, hard-working adding that the ministry of interior will work with the ministry of education to ensure hard work prevails during examination period.
