Following the outcry from Nyaribari Masaba residents over poor states of roads across the constituency, now the area Member of parliament has launched the construction of those roads.
Addressing residents during the launching, MP Ezekiel Machogu noted that the delay was a result of heavy rain which was experienced in the Region but now the construction will go on.
“We are aware that the region has been experiencing heavy rains which real delayed the construction of these roads ,but I want to inform you that we have started constructing them,” Machogu said.
The legislator added that 43.5 kilometers will be constructed as they have allocated 24 million for the construction and the contractors have been awarded for rehabilitation and Murraming of the various national roads within the constituency.
Machogu has warned contractors and urged them to use standard machines and quality Murram for the roads to last longer because Gusii receives high rains regularly. This will protect the roads from being swept by floods.
“I call upon all contractors to ensure that they do standard work, ” he said
Among the roads which were launched include Nyaturago-Nyamasibi –Ekona road ,Keroka –Gesabakwa-Ibacho road,Junction-Riochungo-Geteri Road. Mwembe –Ibacho-Kiamokama-Chiroinge road.
