Ms Grace Ouma the Kiogoro  Deputy County Commissioner in Kisii County on Monday lead a team of her Chiefs in search of illicit brews in Kiong’anyo and Nyamemiso areas in the ongoing crack down.

The area is claimed to have long term “professional” illicit brewers where 5100 liters of Kangara, 100 liters of Busaa and 20 liters of Chang’aa were fished out.

Addressing the media, Grace said the brewers have acquired new means of hiding the brew adding that they dig holes in cownbans where its smell is neutralized  with that of cow dung.

“They ave found new means. They dig holes in cow houses so that when you are around you cant get the smell because its overtaken by that of cowdung,” She said.

The tireless commissioner has urged residents of Kisii to give information on anybody engaging in such illicit brewing to rescue the lives of the growing generation.
