Parents and Teachers spend sleepless nights in fear of their children in Boarding schools. This comes after the recent wave unrest from Boarding schools especially in Nyanza region.
On February this year, Sigoti Complex Girls Secondary School in Nyakach, Kisumu County was reduced into ashes destroying unknown amount of property.
In just a week Kisumu Girls, Ng’iya Girls, Maranda, Maliera and Ambira are Among the schools affected by fires and Unrest.
On Saturday night, Fire razed dormitories at Chulaimbo Boys and Usenge High School leaving hundred of students homeless.
In Chulaimbo High school, students are said to chase away firefighters who responded, accusing them of taking too long to arrive at the school.
About 200 students were rendered homeless losing their property leading them to spend the cold night in classrooms and dining hall.
Up to today July 8th, Eight schools have been affected in Nyanza and they include; Chulaimbo, Usenge, Otieno Oyoo, Ambira, Maliera, Ng’iya, Maranda and Kisumu Girls.
