Nakuru County is set to receive two Cuban doctors on Wednesday after their official send off to counties by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
A cardiologist and a family doctor will be sent to the Nakuru County Referral Hospital for a period of two years.
Speaking on Tuesday, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui said the county is looking forward to the services of the doctors.
“We are looking forward to the health care services they will offer to patients and also the knowledge they will share with our doctors,” said Kinyanjui.
He maintained that the county will learn from the doctors because he believes Cuba has one of the best healthcare systems.

Kinyajui has also said that the County will initiate partnership with the environs to ease the burden of patients traveling for long distances to seek medication.
“The County will partner with neighboring counties to ensure patients do not travel far for treatment. Other counties will get different Cuban specialists from those sent to Nakuru and the collaboration will see patients in the region benefit from diverse health care services,” He added.
