Is a rural-turned urban centre in the Kenya. The only growing city in the south western region of Kenya.  Though primarily hosting people from the Gusii community, it also hosts people from different communities and races. It is an administrative centre for County and National Governments, educational centre, commercial centre, corruption centre and religious centre.  The availability of food stuffs and other services makes life in the town and its outskirts more appealing and affordable to both low and high income earners.

Though hosting and serving human beings of different walks of life, we, some county and national government officials are creating difficulties to us common wananchis.  In fact the two governments and our own ignorance are making life to us so difficult… the town promises no life for the future.  Every individual minds his/her own present business not the future… those thinking of the future are investing on public land (markets, graveyards, river banks, etc).

It is in this town that at least every individual identifies himself with a certain religious denomination if not religion yet nobody cares or tolerates other peoples’ spiritual well of. For instance those who calls themselves Christians are investing on the public graveyards, so where will the traditionists gather to sacrifice for their ancestors if not on the graveyard where their grandfathers were buried? Where will we who have nowhere to call home will we gather bury the dead honorably if not at Nyambera?

It is in this town that majority of those who loot the public are church elders. It’s the only place where everyone is informed yet he/she applies not the information he/she has daily life. For instance majority of the town’s inhabitants are students and professionals who knows what suits human life but just see what happens in the town centre and residential areas… everywhere is litter. It won’t surprise you to see young and energetic beings littering every place without caring.

As a resident I know and I think you also know what our town should look like yet you got no guts to demand if not fighting for it. Now it’s this simple tell your neighbor and a friend that you need a well-planned town with unlimited supply of social amenities, good infrastructure and an efficient waste/garbage disposal system.
