Election of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has been nullified by Court of appeal on Friday morning.
The Court ruled the case filed by Wavinya Ndeti that the returning officer failed the constitutional test and could not be verified.
Mutua has respected the Court of appeal but has disagreed with the ruling.
“I respect the Court of Appeal but disagree with their findings which clearly demonstrate they misunderstood the facts & the Law,” Tweeted Mutua.
The Jovial Governor has told his supporters to be calm for he is still the Governor until the supreme court rules otherwise.
“I want to say that have already gone to supreme court for appeal but still am the governor of Machakos until the supreme court decides and we are not panicking in any way. The people of Machakos are behind me and we will continue to deliver,” Said Mutua.
Mutua has noted that this is meant to prepare him for 2022 as the 5th president of the republic of Kenya.
“The way have been announcing in 2022 i will be in the ballot to contest for presidency. I know i have a calling from my heart, i will win and i will be the 5th President of Kenya,” Added Mutua.
On her side, Wavinya Ndeti who moved to court on 5th September 2017 has congratulated the court for its fair ruling saying Justice has been served to the people of Machakos.
“I take this opportunity to thank the people of Machakos for turning out in masses for the August 8 General Elections and voted for me because you believed in my ideologies. I truly owe you this victory. The Court of Appeal has reaffirmed your decision,” Said Wavinya.
She further urged Mutua to accept the court decision and allow the people of Machakos to fairly vote their preferred leader.
