Kisii county Deputy governor Joash Maangi has confirmed that the county government of Kisii has enough antiretroviral drugs for people living with HIV /AIDs in the county.
According to Maangi there is no scarcity of antiretroviral drugs[ ARVs] in Kisii county and has urged them to always visit various hospitals to take drugs .
Speaking on Monday in Kisii town, Maangi said the County government is devoted in improving health sector in all parts of the county to benefit its residents
“Having HIV/AIDs is not a death sentence let every individual know his or her status because prevention is better than cure but if found with HIV better start taking drugs at early stage,” said DG Maangi
Kisii county government on Monday received anti-malarials, analgesics and disinfectants meant for 117 facilities worthy 70M to improve health sector in the county.
“Today we have witnessed the arrival of Antibiotic and other antimalarial drugs,family planing commodities that will help our people to access medication ,” he added
Last week, Governor James Ongwae dispatched drugs worth Sh 35 million to all Kisii County 14 Level 4 facilities and another consignment of Sh 7.9 million to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH).
He announced that his county government will invest more in health sector to benefit residents in accessing medication in various hospitals within the county
