A man who killed his Son by stabbing his throat has been charged with murder in Kisii high.
41 year old Nehemiah Asiago was charged before high court Judge Rose Ougo for killing his son aged 21 years old.
Asiago was charged with the offence of murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of penal code.
In particular, Asiago was charged that on 2nd day of June 2020 at Bamachoda village in Kisii south murdered Byron Kerongo Asiago after picking a quarrel with him following a domestic disagreement at 10:00pm.
This is when he took a kitchen knife and stabbed his son in the left side of the chest killing him instantly.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges and he was remanded at Kisii Prisons.
The DCI officer from the homicide special unit swore in an affidavit seeking the court to deny him a bond because he may flee the country.
In the affidavit the officer also asked the court to deny the suspect bond since he may threaten his wife and children who are key witnesses in this case.
The Judge ordered the Application on bond / bail be heard on Wednesday this week virtually.
The case will resume on 14th June this year for hearing.
Asiago was arrested two weeks ago at Parklands in Nairobi by DCI detectives from DCI Headquarters Serious Crime Unit Homicide section while trying to flee out of the country.
The DCI has conducted DNA in forensic analysis on what was recovered in the scene of crime he is suspected of murdering his son.
The murder weapon is yet to be recovered and the suspect’s assistance into the recovery is required.
