Kisii County Senatorial hope Okeng’o Nyambane has joined other leaders in mourning political titan Simeon Nyachae who died Monday morning.
In a statement to journalists, Okengo said the region has lost a man who was keen on inspiring unity among the Omogusii nation.
“Some of us have joined politics because of the integrity he had shown in service, “said Okeng’o.
He likened the departed politician as a library.
” As a son of Senior chief and who grew through the ranks to grow wealth through his own effort, he truly does teach us and those coming before us the value of hard work,” he stated.
The Kitutu Chache South politician also took issue with Monday scuffle by two Kisii politician at the burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi ‘s late father Abel Gongera.
Okengo termed the incident as shameful and disrespectful of the dead.
“It definitely fails to impress even our children who watch us on television when we fight. There should be better ways to solve political differences than parading such dirty linen in public,” he said.
He said as the country climbs down to the General election the each politician must have a role to ensure there is tranquility in the country.
