Kisii deputy Governor Joash Maangi has sent a congratulatory message to his Boss Governor James Ongwae for clinching the Vice Chairperson position in the Council of Governors.

Ongwae was elected alongside Governor Martin Wambora who was duly elected as the chairperson and has succeeded the Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who has served since 2019.

“Congratulations to my boss Governor H. E. James Ongwae for being elected as the Vice Chairperson of the Council of Governors,” He said.

Maangi said with Ongwae’s leadership and experience, counties are all confident that together with Governor H. E. Martin Wambora, the council will reach greater heights while protecting devolution.

Wambora who is the Embu Governor was wrestling Governor Godhana Dhadho of Tana River

The Friday peaceful election was held at Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi County.

Wambora takes over as the 5th Chairman after Isaac Ruto, Peter Munya, Josphat Nanok and Wycliffe Oparanya.
