Kisii Governor James Ongwae and PS Susan Mochache on Sunday led Kisii Leaders in Mourning with Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who lost his dear father.
Mzee Abel Gongera of Riagongera village in Bosoti Sengera ward rested on Tuesday Morning after battling with a long illness.
Speaking at Maangi’s home, Ongwae termed Gongera as Philanthropic on matters of Education and Religion.
“Mzee Gongera will be remembered for his many philanthropic actions on matters education and commitment to the church,” He said.
Ongwae said they will closely work with the family until the day Mzee will be put to rest.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the family, relatives friends, the people of Bomachoge and the entire Gusii community for losing a worthy elder of repute,” He added.
Maangi pledged to continue working closely with Governor Ongwae who is serving his last term in fulfilling their development promises to the people.
“We have walked together, He has guided me, He has helped me and to a large extent to this far is because of him. Sometimes we play politics but lest not destroy our past relationship,” He said.
According to Maangi, the fallen hero will be laid to rest on the first Monday of February 2021.
