Over 50 youth representatives from Kisii on Monday pledged to work with Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi ahead of 2022 polls.
Co-ordinated by Rodgers Onyancha, they affirmed that Maangi is best fit to succeed the Retiring over 70 year old Kisii Governor James Ongwae.
They were speaking in a meeting held at Riagongera in Bomachoge, Kisii County.
“We have come here purposely to lay our confidence with the leadership of Doctor Joash Maangi. We are confident that with his vision and style of leadership he can lead this community to the next level,” He told the Media.
They confessed that the Ruto allied DG has in several occasions empowered them economically through business.
“The DG has always made efforts to support the activities of hustlers movement in terms of empowerment. He initiated the chicken project which ongoing. We are doing small business in towns supported by him,” He added.
Nyatichi Mogire representing Bonchari Constituency advised leaders to follow suit and support young people in creating opportunities for them.
“Corona crippled us. I urge sitting leaders and those who will be coming to create opportunities for us. In their leadership just like the DG, they should include youths. We are tired of cultivating rocks and milking bulls,” She said.
The Deputy Governor on his part told the hustler nation in Kisii to be patient as they deliberate to front a candidate for Kiamokama by-election.
He maintained that of now as Tanga Tanga they have not endorsed anyone to succeed the late ODM MCA Kennedy Mainya who allegedly succumbed to Covid in November last year.
“Tanga Tanga we have so many parties allied to it. We have not fronted any candidate of now. We are deliberating to see the best suit who will flag Tanga Tanga. We ask our people to be patient and stop buying innuendoes from people,” He said.
Maangi is on a race to succeed the outgoing Governor James Ongwae come 2022.
