Kisii County Politics has taken a new twist after the Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi reconciled with interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i at an SDA church in Kitutu Chache North.

The move is entirely aimed at uniting the Gusii community. However, Maangi has not defected from William Ruto’s Camp.

The Meeting that seemed to have been well planed together at Nyagesenda SDA saw the DG, CS and PS Susan Mochache jovially share a podium for the first time since Maangi joined William Ruto’s Camp.

“Its time we must come together and unite as a community. Today in this church I want to assure our able CS Matiangi that we will work together. A time has come we must put aside our political differences and unite our community,” Said Maangi.

PS Susan Mochache backed Maangi’s sentiments and pledged to work closely with him.

“My brother Maangi you have done something that I could not believe you will. My heart has now found peace. This is the time have been waiting for. This is the way to go. Let’s come together and steer our community forward,” She said.

On his part Matiang’i pledged unity of purpose and said this is the moment he has been yearning for. He called on the Kisii Governor James Ongwae who stormed the church service to join the new ceiling ship.

“What my sister PS Mochache said, My brother Maangi we are together. Let’s work together and unite our people” Said Matiangi.

Ongwae who arrived late with his county brigade admitted that truly he was not invited.

“My brother Matiang’i this is my home and I was not aware you were around. I was in my house and received a phone call that you are here. I had to come and say hi to you,” He said.

Matiang’i confirmed the sentiments and said he came without informing him.

“My brother Governor Ongwae I just came quietly without informing you despite being your home. I came to worship here where I wanted to be peacefully preached to,” He said.

Maangi and Matiang’i reconciliation has set a new dawn. The two have not been in good terms. Immediately after Mashujaa Day, Maangi’s security team was withdrawn under unclear circumstances till today.
