Two senior government bosses have disagreed on the ongoing National Government projects in Kisii town, the Daily clock has learnt.
Since the National Madaraka Day celebration was announced to take place in Kisii, the National Government has been running a series of projects since March 2020.
Among the projects are the completion of Suneka Airstrip, Renovation of Gusii stadium, Re-carpeting and tarmacking of roads, installation of street lights, and Completion of state lounge.
On Friday last week, the county Government boss launched street lights in Kisii Town which were fully installed by the National government ahead of the halted Madaraka Day. This never went well with a national Government County Boss.
“Launched street lights within Kisii Town. This initiative, which is a partnership between the National and the County government, is in line with our objective of promoting the security of residents which is key in the growth of a 24- hour economy in Kisii Town,” Said Ongwae on his Facebook Post.
On Wednesday the National Government boss went insane accusing section of Kisii Journalists who have been peddling stories suggesting that projects have been under County Government.
“How can you write that these projects are being done by the County Government. You are not serious. The president himself has pumped resources in these projects. Like the Daraja Mbili Market, it was fully funded by the National Government. Be careful on your stories,” He warned.
On Wednesday, the regional commissioner James Kianda visited Kisii representing Trade Principal Secretary in the groundbreaking ceremony of Banana storage cold rooms at Kiamokama, an event the County Government boss snubbed.
A confidant from the ministry told the Daily Clock that they intentionally failed to invite him in fear that he might use the opportunity to scoop all the credits to County Government.
“I think you know who Governor is. We decided to avoid him for now. He always takes pride in such projects,” said the official who requested anonymity.
The disintegration of the bosses was evident on Wednesday after each organized a separate presser briefing residents on the Madaraka Day celebration. This is unusual as they have been closely working jointly on such functions.
