32 year old Police officer shoots himself dead at workplace in Kisii

A 32-year-old Kenya Police officer attached to Nyamarambe Police station In South Mugirango, Kisii County shot himself dead at the workplace on Tuesday Morning.

According to a Police report, his colleague Fredrick Okoth who was on duty while heading to the report office to book off duty heard a gunshot and rushed only to find Rodgers Arusei lying down in a pool of blood.

It’s said the Police officer fired a bullet to his chest using an AK47 rifle, a bullet which went through his right-hand shoulders finishing him on the spot.

The officer is said to have arrived on duty early morning jovial and relaxed with no signs of depression.

Neighbors at where he stays told the media that the constable had been through a series of depression which came to a head-on Monday evening.

Kisii County Police Commander Jebel Munene said they are yet to dig out the root cause of the 8 am ugly incident which has left him speechless.

“He was a very hardworking police officer who related well with members of the community that he was part of. We have lost a young bright mind. Condolence to Kenya Police and his family at large,” Said Munene.
