This is why the Kisii County Deputy Speaker was arrested

Kisii County Deputy Speaker Davins Okindo Onuso was on Thursday arraigned in Ogembo law court before Senior Principal Magistrate David Mikoyan over two cases consecutively.

Onuso was arrested on Wednesday by the Police in a chaotic scene at Kiobegi. It’s alleged that the MCA had gone to eject a principal who he accused of under performing for ten years.

In the first case, Onuso was accused of creating disturbance on 7th January 2020 in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by shouting at Henry Katana at the office of Deputy County Commissioner Nyamache Sub County.

He banged the office doors saying he Must hold a meeting whether Katana likes it or Not.

According to his allies, the MCA had gone to seek a permit to hold a rally in two days time against the law which requires one to obtain the permit three days before the actual day.

In the second case, the Masige East MCA was charged with five counts.

He was alleged to have taken part in unlawful assembly on 8th January 2020, taking part in a riot, rioting after proclamation, resisting lawful arrest and offensive conduct and breach of the peace.

Onuso denied the allegation and was released on a bond of Ksh 30,000 or a cash bail of Ksh 20,000 in the first case.

In the second case, he was released on a bond of Ksh 50,000 or a cash bail of Ksh 30,000.

The two cases will be consecutively heard on 17th, 18th and 19th of March 2020.
