Those targeting chaos be warned, section of Kisii MCAs endorse BBI Meeting

Section of Kisii Members of County Assembly on Wednesday jointly endorsed the upcoming BBI Conference scheduled for 10th January 2020 in Kisii.

Led by Sensi ward MCA Paul Angwenyi, the MCAs told the media outside the Kisii Assembly buildings that they fully support the conference.

They thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the BBI Committee for settling at Kisii County.

“Today we have congregated here to thank His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the BBI Committee for identifying Kisii County to host the first ever National dialogue on the building bridges initiative report that will take place on 10th January 2020,” Angwenyi read a statement.

“As a community we are ready for the meeting and we want to ask the participants to put the country first and engage objectively on matters of governance, Election, devolved units, sharing of revenue and other pertinent issues of National Importance,” The statement continued.

Bomorenda ward MCA John Ombati warned those who might be tempted to disrupt the peaceful meeting.

On Tuesday, Kisii deputy Governor Joash Maangi said as Tanga Tanga, they are not aware of the meeting. He maintained that they fully support BBI and those willing to attend the conference are free to do so.

The meeting is expected to attract over 3,000 delegates from the Nyanza Counties. Raila Odinga and Interior CS Doctor Fred Matiang’i are rumored to attend.
