Self-declared Kamba community leader Johnston Muthama has announced on behalf of the community to back up Ruto in 2022.
Speaking at Light Christian Center on Wednesday, Muthama said they have considered forming a coalition with Deputy President Dr William Ruto, Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula.
“Muthama is not looking for ranks. We will step on one another to the rope. We are not turning back. Kalonzo if you are not aware Uhuru is going Home. If it’s Ruto we must have a deputy position. If it’s Mudavadi we will join him,’ Said Muthama.
The sentiments came two days after Wiper party Kalonzo Musyoka announced in Yatta that as a community they will not engage in any plans for 2022 for the fully support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership.
“Where President Uhuru Kenyatta will be in the next cycle I will be with him. There are people fighting to throw me out. If they had put this in the constitution that second runner in the general election to be a leader there could have been no problem. Now those who call me water melon, we are suffering together,” Said Kalonzo.
The former Machakos senator revealed to have been choked by Kalonzo’s sentiments, the move which propelled him to declare himself the new Kamba spokesperson.
