Nyamira Boys high school has proven their worth in the 2019 KCSE having sent 110 students to university. It garnered a Mean of 6.8 beating 5.49 of 2018.
Speaking to The Daily Clock on Friday, the school Principal Mr. George Onkundi attributed the great performance to Handwork by students who were disciplined and Focused.
“We are happy for this tremendous results which has made us proud not only in Nyamira but has put us in the country Map. We covered the syllabus on time which enabled students to prepare well for the examination,” said Onkundi
Onkundi lauded Teachers terming them as devoted and hardworking.
“I would like to recommend teachers for this exemplary results ,they devoted themselves by ensuring that they covered syllabus on time. The Board of management also was supportive throughout the year. Also Goodwill from the community and the parents gave us humble time,” He added.
The school lacks Multipurpose hall, modern library and science laboratories. The principal told the media that the challenges if address, students will have a good environment for studies.
“The school has some challenges which needs to be addressed , we call upon stakeholders to come on board so that we can address them as we are target a mean of 7.5 in 2020, ” noted Principal Onkundi
“Sometimes we have staffing challenges more so when we employ Board of management Teachers and finally they get absorbed by the Government and posted to schools,it gets hard to replace the teacher who has already adapted with the students,”
