The Abagusii Community has split into two with each scrambling for numbers to win a piece from the 2022 national cake.
Tanga Tanga movement led by Joash Maangi seems to gain momentum in numbers compared to Kieleweke steered by Kisii Governor James Ongwae and his Nyamira Counterpart John Nyagarama.
On Monday Maangi led a delegation of over 1500 youths among them elected leaders to Sugoi a wave that sent Kieleweke into the drawing board forcing them to organize an emergency meeting on Wednesday.
“People say am selfish, am not. No one is seeing what am seeing. My vision is beyond 2022. I brought Obomo Bwomogusii alone with an Aim of uniting my community. I will never tire. This is my vision after I become the Kisii Governor in 2022. Omogusii must unite,” Maangi told the Daily Clock.
The two steering governors conveyed a meeting at Kisii Institute of Highways and Building Technology attended by zero members of parliament from Nyamira and only three from Kisii County out of 9.
“This meeting is to assure the President that we fully support his big four Agenda and the BBI. We further support the handshake between the President and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. We aslo want our son Matiang’i be respected,” Said Ongwae.
A close ally to the Cabinet Secretary Doctor Fred Matiang’i revealed that the meeting was to be attended by the CS who cancelled after noticing less numbers as expected.
Kisii senator Sam Ongeri, Kisii County speaker David Kombo, Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka, Nyamira Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo was the top leaders in attendance.
