Two arrested for exchanging dowry to have defiled 15 year old married in Marani

44 year old man from Metembe in Kegogi, Marani  Kisii County  has been arrested  for allegedly defiling a 15 year old girl.

Richard Nyakundi who has been on the run for three weeks now was nabbed at 3am on Tuesday by the area chief Mr Wilson Kombo in collaboration with Police officers.

Another suspect in custody is Joyce Kemunto a mother to the Minor who is accused of officially accepting dowry from the suspect to have her daughter married to him.

The Marani Deputy County Commissioner Mr. David Saruni has vowed to have the two serve as an example to those who hide defilement cases in exchange of Money.

“Marani has been on media over increase cases of defilement. As long as am here, this must end. The two suspects in custody will serve as an example to all those who have the same character. We cannot allow the future of our Girls destroyed,” Vowed Saruni.

The two are expected to appear in court immediately the investigation officers finish gathering enough evidence.

Another teacher who was caught at night having an affair with his nieces is on the run after escaping from the hands of angry mob.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i in a number of public forums has warned adults who defile school going children.
