Deputy President Dr. William Ruto has called off his planned tour to Kisii County amid pressure from kieleweke MPs associated to Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
The leaders lead by Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka this week told Ruto to forget touring Kisii asking for votes following his sentiments on Matiang’i.
“We want to ask the deputy president, we respect you Please we demand that you too respect us. When you come to Kisii and you are calling us witches you will wait and see which Kisii will vote for you,” Said Onyonka.
The vocal MP further claimed Ruto allies branded the Abagusii Community as witches, the sentiments he says were directed to the CS.
On Friday Ruto spanner Boy from Kisii Joash Maangi announced that the DP has officially postponed the mush hyped tour to attend other meetings in Nairobi.
“The planned visit by H. E. the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto to Kisii to aid artists from Gusii to build a modern state of the art recording studio that was scheduled for Monday 9th December 2019 has been postponed to Sunday 15th December 2019 from Noon at Kisii School,” He posted.
“H. E. the Deputy President will be attending the 2019 African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of Countries Summit of Heads of State from the Caribbean Member States at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi,” Continued Maangi.
Unconfirmed Reports say, CS Matiang’i had planned to tour Kisii the same dates to attend professionals’ Meeting.
