As K.C.P.E examinations kicked off today, Kenyans on social media have given mixed reactions on a police officer who was captured manning students in an examination room holding a gun.
They have termed the act as intimidating and traumatizing Candidates.
Ikambi AlexLawrence Njenga armed officers should be outside the classrooms.Only invigilators should be inside. The sight of ammunition can make them panic.
Speaker Harrison Kamwana NdululuThe police is NOT supposed to be inside the class. Only the invigilators and if need may arise the supervisor comes in. Police is supposed to be outside to be outside the class to check on external security matters.
Martina Mutheu MulwaPolice are not supposed to enter the class. The supervisor is sleeping on the job. Their work is to guard the exam from any form.of threat but as for cheating and such like incidents, the supervisor is in charge.
Robert MwangalaAren’t the police supposed to be outside for security purposes and the teachers in to maintain order and prevent teaching? Maybe I should ask for a refund.
Mjaghala MwasamboWhy are Kenyans like you getting offended with guns in exam rooms Harold Getenga? Let the government deal with the mess Kenyans have created. I did my exam many years ago and there was no cheating. Similary there were no guns but there were policemen at the sites.
