Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has vowed to take stern action and arrest those who took the law into their hands during the Kenyenya incident where three people lost their lives during a confrontation between Police and the Public.
Three people, including a police officer, were killed during running battles in Kenyenya, Kisii County, as residents protested the killing of a conductor who was alleged to have been stabbed by a police officer.
Speaking at Kereri High School in Kisii during the commissioning of the new dormitory and Water tank, CS said that the investigations have been completed and the full report is ready for action.
“Investigations have been completed and the report is ready. The law is very clear , they are going to be arrested and charged in court. We will act accordingly as per the investigations report,” Said CS.
Matiang’i who was also the former Cabinet Secretary for education has called upon leaders to support schools for a better society.
“We must support our schools in all means possible. These are our children and we must make sure they have a better life,” He added.
He sent a warning to those who will be found or engaging in National Examination cheating saying the exam will be highly monitored because its part of his docket.
“Exam security is my docket. We will not relent. We will arrest those who will be found engaging in malpractices. We will work closely with my sister Amina to see that our exams are successfully done,”
