Kisii county Governor James Ongwae on Thursday afternoon signed into law the finance bill 2018 /2019 which will help the county to Collect revenue from locals .
Speaking at his office during the signing , Ongwae called upon residents to help the County to Collect enough revenue which will help in development .
According to the county boss the money the county is going to raise from revenue collection will help the county to bridge the gap which has been created by the recent 8% VAT tax.
He added that this money can as well be used to construct more roads and water projects among others within the county.
“I thank the Assembly for their understanding and collaboration in passing the bill. My government is enhancing its revenue collection system to meet set targets,” he said
He also added that the Bill was passed in the County Assembly following extensive public participation where residents submitted a memorandum.
The governor was flanked at the ceremony with Speaker David Kombo and finance committee Members of the County Assembly led by Marani MCA Denis Ombachi .
