After making an impromptu visit to Pumwani Hospital and discovered 12 bodies of infants stored in boxes, Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on Thursday set up a task force to investigate the root cause of management and financial problems at the Hospital.
The 13 members task force which is expected to complete its work and compile a report within Thirty (30) days will also recommend workable and sustainable solution.
According to the press report sent to our news room, Sonko has also reinstated all doctors and three nurses who had been suspended from duty during the previous administration in 2015 for allegedly inciting nurses to go on strike.
So far, comprehensive investigations have found that the three, Eunice Thaara Ngari, Magdalene Wambui Ngari and George Maroa Gibore, were not involved in any wrongdoing.
He has urged all consultants and surgeons to ensure 24 hour operations per day are not disrupted, and has assured them that overtime allowances will be paid.
