Kisii county Muslims marked Eid Al–Adha celebrations at Jamia mosque in Kisii town on Tuesday as their colleagues participated thousands of kilometers away in the holy pilgrimage in Mecca Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to the media, Sheik Imam Mohammed Omari Yusuf explained the Muslims worshiped and interacted on the occasion regarded as one of the two most important feasts in the Islamic calendar.
The Muslims ,he said slaughtered goats, feasted together and provided to those who did not have as commanded by Allah (God).
According to the Imam,the feast symbolized Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son signifying devotion to Allah.
Eid al-Adha, also referred to as the “Feast of sacrifice,’’ marks the end of Ramadhan.
