Kilifi county Senator Stewart Mwachiru has challenged counties that failed to participate in the inter county games to allocate some budget so that they can participate in the next games.
According to Mr. Mwachiru, sports is one way the counties come together, Put away their differences in promoting peace and unity through mingling.
Speaking to The Daily clock after playing with Kericho County assembly football club at Gusii sports club, he noted that they want the games to continue so that they can bring all Kenyans together.
“Sports is one way of promoting unity and peace hence we advocate for this games since they has brought us together,” Mwachiru says
At the same time he called upon the Senators to participate in the games so that they can as well take the title.
“I call upon my fellow senators to participate in all games,” he said
He also supported the hand shake and applauded the ongoing Fight against corruption saying that this will help in development.
“It’s time we need to support the fight against corruption and the handshake by coming together and realize that Kenya is our country since we have no other country we will be in,” He added
Mr. Mwachiru also noted that its worrying to learn that some counties have not paid its workers.
“Having worked in industrial court of Kenya its worrying to hear that one can work for 30 days and fail to receive his/her salary, it’s a big mistake which need to be addressed,” said Mwachiru.
The senate had previously played with Kirinyaga county assembly where they won 5 nil and on Wednesday they played with Kericho county assembly where they lost 2 ;1.
