Following the story we did about Ednah Kemuma who her arm was chopped by her husband and admitted at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital, now the representative from the office of Kisii County Woman Rep Hon Sen Janet Ong’era have stepped in to support her.
Being represented by her lawyer Isaiah Mosota, officers from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund and women leaders from Kisii, the Woman Rep promised to ensure that no stone will be left unturned. She confirmed to have contacted the FIDA leadership to take up the matter.
Ongera has condemned the incident by saying that the increasing cases of Gender Based Violence is worrying and measures should be put in place to end such vices in society .
Therefore she has promised to build a Sanctuary for all gender based violence victims in next year.
“It is time to galvanize action to end Gender based violence in Kisii county and Kenya in large,” She said.
The lawyer Mr Mosota promised to report the matter at Etago police station and will follow the matter in the corridors of justice to ensure that perpetrator is brought to book.
