Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala on Tuesday announced the death of another black rhino adding the numbers to nine out of the eleven that were relocated from Nairobi To Nakuru.
Balala who said they are waiting for autopsy also confirmed 18 rhino horns recovered from the dead animals are safe citing the remaining two are in good health..
“We have confirmed the surviving two are in good health and were seen at Maungu and one around the sanctuary,” Said Balala on Tuesday.
“We have called upon Prof Gathumi who was there on Tuesday and Friday taking the samples to give a postmortem report by 23rd of this month as he promised,”He stated.
The CS promised to publicly unveil the shocking incidents facing the animals.
“We will be transparent and we will be public in every information that is required,” He said.
An external independent team was appointed to carry out investigations as KWS has been left out the investigation process.
