Armed robbers have escaped with Sh 1M church offering after raiding African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa in Nyeri town on Tuesday.
Reports say the three heavily armed suspects arrived around 3pm on a motorcycle before shooting on air demanding for the Cash that was yet to be banked.
Church Bishop Benard Muthoga told the press that at the time the robbers raided the church only two staff members a youth coordinator and a secretary were present.
“The staff did not ambush them. They just gave them room and nobody was hurt,” Said the Bishop.
Assistant Nyeri Central County commissioner Mr. John Marete confirmed the incident and said they have launched thorough investigation promising to arrest the suspects as soon as possible.
